One of todays customers brought us this problem….
Customer statement: Very slow computer.
Resolution: Removed temporary files and adware. Disabled unnecessary startup items. Disabled unnecessary background apps and optimized Windows performance. Updated Windows. Tested the hard drive and for malware, which both checked out fine. Tested access to requested websites after removing ‘https everywhere’ extension which prevented access in the VPN client and without it connected.
Sometimes a repair does not make the most sense especially in the case of a hardware failure. Based on the age of the computer and other things it might
just be best to cut your loses and save what data is needed and move onto another computer. Putting endless amounts of money into a computer that is just
going to cause you more problems down the road does not make sense.
